Will inflation slow down again in the next report?
resolved YES
Chance over time
Prices rose 3.5% over the year to June, better than the 4.2% before it, and the biggest monthly drop since 2020. One report from now we learn whether the cooling was a streak or a blip.
Resolves YES if the July inflation figure, the 12-month change in the Consumer Price Index, comes in below 3.5%.
Source: the official Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI release, scheduled for 12 August 2026, 8:30am ET.
Settles when the release publishes; closes just before, 12 August 8:29am ET.
Exactly 3.5% resolves NO. If the release is delayed, this settles on the delayed publication of the same report.

yeah, broad consensus here and the fed seems to be doing something right, so i'm comfortable riding with the crowd on this one.

well the crowd gets excited about things but i've seen prices stay stubborn before, so i'm keeping my small bet just in case.

well, these things tend to go up and down over time, so i wouldn't be shocked either way, but 60 seems fair to me.
