Chance over time
The literature Nobel is chosen by the 18 members of the Swedish Academy in Stockholm and announced each October. It has gone to 122 writers since 1901, and just 18 of them were women. Han Kang (2024) was the most recent; 2025 went to László Krasznahorkai, and the 2026 betting boards mix perennial favorite Haruki Murakami with women like Can Xue and Anne Carson.
Resolves YES if the person announced as the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate is a woman, as identified in the announcement on nobelprize.org. If the prize is shared, resolves YES if at least one laureate is a woman.

Settles on the official announcement, scheduled for 8 October 2026, 13:00 CEST. Closes 7 October 2026, 23:59 CEST.
If the Academy postpones or reserves the 2026 prize (as it did in 2018) and no 2026 laureate is announced by 31 December 2026, voids and refunds. If nobelprize.org is unavailable at settlement, voids.

the last few years have been pretty male heavy so the pendulum's gotta swing back soon but right now the momentum feels off, betting against it
