Will an open-source AI model score a perfect 42/42 at IMO 2026?
resolved NO
Chance over time
Same bar as the frontier labs, but for a model anyone can download.
Resolves YES if a model with publicly downloadable weights is reported scoring 42/42 on the 2026 IMO problem set, graded to official IMO marking.
Source: the releasing organisation's official announcement, checked against the official IMO 2026 marking scheme.
Settles on 31 July 2026, 23:59 ET.
"Open source" here means downloadable weights, whatever the licence. An API-only model resolves NO regardless of who publishes it.

the market's way overweighting an unlikely tail event when the base rate says these models still choke on olympiad geometry.
