Sequels usually score worse. This asks for one that beats its parent.

Resolves YES if a sequel released in 2026 finishes with a higher Tomatometer score than the film it follows.

Source: Rotten Tomatoes, both films needing at least 40 critic reviews.

sequels are usually worse, but i'll take a small bet since maybe they learned something from the first one.

sequels that do better are rare, but every once in a while the second one gets it right, so i'm betting a little hoping they've learned something.

i've seen a few good sequels in my time so betting small that lightning strikes again seems fair to me.

flipped a coin and landed on the sequel curse side, these things almost never beat the original anyway.
