What is forecasting?

Putting a number on the future instead of just an opinion.

"I think she'll win" is a vibe. "I think there's a 70% chance she wins" is a forecast, it can be scored, compared, and improved.

That one habit, numbers instead of adjectives, is the entire difference between arguing about the future and getting good at it.
