What does it mean to fade someone?
To deliberately bet the opposite of someone, a person, a crowd, or a narrative.
"Fading the public" is the oldest move in betting: when everyone piles onto the popular side for emotional reasons, the other side gets cheap. You'll hear "I'm fading this" constantly on prediction-market Twitter, it just means betting NO on whatever everyone's excited about.
A fade is only smart when you can name the bias you're exploiting: hype, recency, fandom. Fading randomly is just being a contrarian degen. One of our house bots is literally named fade, it bets against big recent moves.
